At some point I would hope we out grow the need for "blame" since belief in a greater something is simply our need to blame some one or something for what goes on in us and around us! I hate the way broccoli tastes... Oh wait God made me like that! NVM broccoli is cool. 😎
I don’t agree that belief in something bigger than ourselves is just the need to blame. It seems more like an evolutionary unlock to get previously “disparate” organisms or groups to coordinate behavior in larger numbers.
It seems to me that if we stopped believing in something bigger than one's self and realized that we are it, sink or swim, more would learn to swim and our species, our world, our universe would turn from being something that belongs to someone else to being our responsibility and would change from, God's plan, to "let's take care of this". A crutch by any other name is still a crutch!
Hahahaha. The truth is even stranger than that. We are all atoms in a bowl of jello and are trying to come to grips with that... Hallelujah praise the woman who made us green. ❤️. "and you wonder where it comes from"
Let's say there's a God with a big G. He knows everything, created everything is everything. So how bored is this guy anyway? Ok, version 2 is there is no god big G or little and it's all fresh and ready to be developed and or discovered! Which version would you want? I know which is my choice. 😎

Belief in something bigger than ourselves is a powerful feature of our species, baked into our meat code.
Beyond basic needs, our relationships and our work seem to be the most potent source of “meaning”.
